Tyler Henry Says Whitney Houston “Had a Message to Deliver” to Bobby Brown in the Afterlife
The Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry star breaks down the emotional reunion.
When Tyler Henry sat down with Bobby Brown on Wednesday's Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry, one of the folks from the singer's past that the E! star connected with was none other than his ex-wife, the late pop icon Whitney Houston, who died in 2012. It was a moment that was not only emotional for the New Edition singer, but also for viewers. So, what was it like to connect with the deceased legend?
"Well actually the beauty of my work is after doing over 1,000 readings bringing through non-celebrities, celebrities as a soul everybody fundamentally comes through the same way," Tyler told The Daily Dish. "When she connected, I didn't see Whitney Houston's face. I just felt an energy, the energy of a woman who was interested in connecting with her former husband and had a message to deliver. So no matter whether someone's a celebrity or not, fundamentally they all value the same things on the other side — that's kind of the beauty of the work."
Looking back on this particular reading, Tyler shared that it was a special one for many reasons. And the fact that Whitney and Bobby's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown (who died in 2015), also connected with him was only a small part of it. "It was just incredibly surreal. When he answered the door, I actually did not recognize him because he was in a rather small home. He was wearing sweatpants. So we just sat down and immediately I actually just felt his sister come through," he recalled. "And for me what was so fascinating about that reading is though Whitney and his daughter did make a connection, I think people will be particularly interested by the connections that were made with non-famous family members as well because that really validated to him that this was real because details that were not public knowledge came through and information that let him know that his loved ones were OK and he really needed it."
In the end, Tyler thinks the sit-down really changed things for Bobby. "There's a lightness about him after that experience and I think sometimes a big part of having closure is getting answers and ultimately that's a lot of really what came through helping clarify certain transitions, causes of passings and just certain incidences that happened in life," he said. "And to get clarity about that from people he never thought he would get clarity from, I think really changed his life."
