Lala Kent Has Feelings About Ocean Turning 1: "Bittersweet"

You only celebrate turning 1 once, and Lala Kent made sure that daughter Ocean Kent Emmett's first birthday party was definitely memorable. The guest list featured some of Lala's closest pals, including Scheana Shay, as well as an adorable theme that matched her baby girl's name. The party was ocean-themed (duh!) and the birthday girl even rocked a little mermaid costume.

"The best moment was singing happy birthday and watching her smash her cake. It was a birthday that was full of so much love... Ocean had the best time," Lala shared in an interview with PEOPLE about her daughter's party, which took place days before her actual birthday on March 15. "The parents had the best time. It was an amazing first birthday party."

She also posted an emotional Instagram message to mark Ocean's birthday on Tuesday (March 15). "Happy first birthday to you, Ocean. This past year has been the best year of my life. You are the most amazing thing to ever happen to me. You are sweet, determined, independent, curious - a bright light in our lives. You are going to do incredible things in this world, baby. I will always be here to catch you when you fall, carry the weight when it gets too heavy, and protect you with all I have," Lala shared, alongside photos and video of her baby. "Being your mama is an honor, O. Happy birthday, baby girl."

James Kennedy commented back. "Happy birthday joyous Ocean."

Lala has been keeping fans up-to-date on all of Ocean's sweet life moments since welcoming her last year. In fact, the Vanderpump Rules mom never misses the chance to post cute photos (we especially love the photo of Ocean with Lala's beloved dog) or gush about her kid. "Ocean turning one is bittersweet," Lala added when speaking to PEOPLE. "I can't believe how quickly the time has gone, but to see these little milestones happening in the past year has been beautiful to watch."

Speaking of those special moments, Lala shared a few more recently on Instagram. One post featured a video of Ocean experiencing a cute moment that will certainly bring a little joy to your day. "Yesterday at Ocean’s baby sensory class. I die," Lala wrote alongside the video of her daughter clapping and dancing.

Another video Lala posted to Instagram reveals that sometimes baby Ocean also gets in on her workout sessions because moms are all about multitasking. "When Gigi’s trying to go to the gym at the same time as you," Lala wrote alongside the impressive video. "Gigi is my Mama / Ocean’s Grandma for anyone who doesn’t know."
