You'll Wish You Could Have Enjoyed the Solar Eclipse as Much as Sarah Jessica Parker

Will SJP Plead the Fifth Again?

Hey, did you know that a total solar eclipse hit the United States yesterday? Well, if the constant barrage of social media posts, articles about those special glasses, and livestream links didn't give it away, now you know.

But if you did happen to take a look at some of the social media reactions to the solar eclipse, we're willing to bet that they all pale in comparison to Sarah Jessica Parker's documentation of her experience on Instagram. The Divorce star was "in beautiful South Carolina" to catch the total solar eclipse with husband Matthew Broderick. "We are officially eclipse chasers!" she wrote on Instagram.

We are officially eclipse chasers!

As the eclipse began, Parker, in a video with special glasses over her eyes, said that it "may be one of the most thrilling moments of my life, outside of having children and marriage and all that. Wow."

But it wasn't until the eclipse got going in earnest that Parker really lost it. Here are the best, most exuberant lines that came next from Parker as she witnessed the eclipse in another video on Instagram:

"Oh my God, this is the most spectacular light I've ever seen. It doesn't make any sense! It's happening, you guys, it's happening! Oh my God, there's a corona! Oh my God, there it is! There it is!"

"Oh my God, it's happening! And lightning! And birds that are rarely ever seen."

"Oh my God, I wish you all were here!"

"This is the most spectacular, unimaginably perfect, beautiful. Ridiculous."

You can imagine that coming off of a high like that takes some time. "We did it! We made it! Oh my God, we saw it," she gushed in a video after the celestial event. "It's so humbling. It's so extraordinary."

Honestly, we wish we could enjoy anything as much as Parker did with the eclipse.

SJP will continue to put a smile on your face in the video, below.
