Tori Spelling Explains Why She Loves Patti
The '90210' alum previews her 'Matchmaker' appearance.
Move over Dean McDermott , Tori Spelling's got eyes for someone else -- Patti Stanger.
Well, not exactly, but Tori does have much love for The Millionaire Matchmaker -- so much that she agreed to appear on the show, mentoring a client of Patti's who doesn't understand that a modern woman can balance her career and a family. The former Donna Martin has that covered, balancing her businesses, TV shows (Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood returns to Oxygen later this year), marriage, and kids, son Liam and daughter Stella (plus one more on the way!) with ease -- and did we mention the tiny chicken (seriously, watch her in this clip).
But how did the Mathcmaker and the Tor become pals? "Patti and I met because our shows are on sister networks, Bravo and Oxygen, but we hung out and soon became fast friends," Tori gushed. "I love Patti's dating tips because she calls it like it is. She's blunt and always right on. Her honesty with her clients is on point, and often done with her unique humor. She's such a smart intuitive woman!"
Tori is quick to balk at the idea that women would have to fit into Stepford-style roles. "Of course, women can do it all!" Tori continued, "We are multi-taskers. I make it all work because I'm passionate about everything I do. Nothing or no one has to take a backseat ever because I give it all a 100 percent with the knowledge that my family is always Number 1! In our house we play together and work together and do it all with a lot of love!"
And Tori had some choice words for men that think woman can't get the life-balance right. "Men need to realize that women nowadays do it all, and nothing has to be compromised. Women love having a career and being domestic. Just because they can't do it all doesn't mean we can't! For the single woman, know that you don't have to pretend you can't to it all. Women can absolutely be career woman and feel like she can be domestic at home. Better yet, more and more men like to cook and be domestic too, so it's nice to split the responsibilities with your partner."
