Last night, Top Chef Masters alum Tony Mantuano played host to a very special guest in his Chicago restaurant -- First Lady Michelle Obama!
Tony gleefully tweeted:
What an honor to welcome First Lady Michelle Obama back to Spiaggia last night!
The Obamas are clearly fans of the upscale Italian eatery, as they've reportedly celebrated their wedding anniversary at Spiaggia in years past, and the President has personally told Tony that he's his favorite chef.
Hard to argue the First Family's taste. This past season on Top Chef Masters, Tony's Fried Bacon Honey Pizza Dough with Boozy Coffee, Pasta with Fire-Roasted Tomatoes, Capers & Feta, and Warm Crab & Potato Salad with Three Types of Coriander were all seriously drool-worthy. And Tony was always so humble and sweet, never once shoving his amazing talent is anyone’s face.
Congrats, Chef Tony! We'd eat your Grilled Pizza any day.
