'Top Chef' Champ Paul Qui Hits the Hamptons for 'Royal Pains'

The cooking whiz tries out his acting skills on the hit USA show.

Once you win Top Chef, the culinary and professional doors opened are limitless ... and apparently the acting gigs come along too.

Fresh off of his impressive season 9 win, Paul Qui left the friendly confines of his cooking headquarters in Austin, Texas and headed to the ritzy Hamptons for a guest spot on USA's Royal Pains. The show follows "concierge doctor" Hank Lawson and his brother Evan (played by Mark Feuerstein and the hysterical Paolo Costanzo, respectively) as they cater to the well-funded fancypants New Yorkers who head eastward for the summer. In the episode, Paul is working his cooking magic during the Hamptons Food Festival, where HankMed get to test their medical prowess on a competitive eater.

In the dramatic finale to season 9 of Chef, Paul beat out fellow competitor Sarah Greuenberg to take the title, achieving his goal of bringing props and attention to Texas as a place to be reckoned with in the food scene.
