Tom Schwartz Shares a Surprising Update on His Dating Life: "It's Daunting..."
Vanderpump Rules' Tom Schwartz also admitted that not having kids is the "biggest void" in his life.
Tom Schwartz is making a major clarification about his love life nearly one year after going public with Sophia Skoro.
The Vanderpump Rules cast member opened up about his complicated relationship status on the January 28 episode of the Ladygang podcast.
When asked about his dating life, Tom admitted that it's not his focus right now. "Umm. After the past, the most insane two years of my life — and that's not me being crying victim or anything; I did a lot of it to myself — but ... dating is like the last thing on my mind," he explained, before seemingly mentioning Sophia. "There's someone I really enjoy hanging out with. But yeah. Sorry for the lame answer."
As Tom later admitted, though he's three years removed from his divorce from Katie Maloney, he's still not ready to dive head-first into another serious relationship.
"The prospect of fully falling in love and taking that next step with someone and moving in with someone, maybe getting engaged again and talking about kids, it's daunting," he said. "I know I'm a grown ass man and I can handle that, my maturity level is on a different level. I've leveled up a little bit. I still have a lot to do. I'm just saying it's daunting."
Tom Schwartz opens up on his plans to have kids
Tom isn't necessarily ready to commit, but he knows that he does want to have children one day.
"I would say it's probably the biggest void in my life," he said on the podcast about not having kids at the moment. "I don't want to get up too emotional, but yeah, I want to have kids. I want to have two kids and I want to live on my property."
The property Tom is referring to is not in West Hollywood.
"By the way, one thing I'm really excited about, I finally have this kind of idyllic little property in Florida. It's like three acres," he continued. "I have this little magical pond and I'm finally going to start building a little house for my dad on there and my family."
Tom's "long-term goal" for the property is to turn it into a ranch with "llamas, pigs, goats" and produce.
And, of course, he wants it to be a family home for him and his future partner and children.
"I do want that. I want that. I see my friends who have kids, and I come from a big family. I know the trials and tribulations of having a kid. It's no walk in the park, but I do want that," he explained. "I feel like, ultimately, I don't think my life will feel complete or fulfilled without having kids some day. ... By the way, I'm happy right now. I'm chilling, I'm very peaceful, I'm happy in my personal life."
