The Situation Apologizes to Jersey Shore Castmates for His Bad Behavior Before Uncertain Future
Facing federal prison time, Mike Sorrentino says he's sorry to his old roomies.
After five years off the air, several of the original castmates from MTV's Jersey Shore spent the day together as part of the new E! series Reunion Road Trip. Many have remained in the public eye over the years and some of them have even become parents in that time. Now one of the show's biggest personalities is facing an uncertain future.
Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino could get 10 years in federal prison for tax evasion and conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government, yet he insists on Reunion Road Trip that he has no idea how it happened. He also explains that he's now 18 months sober. As the series premieres, it's revealed that most of his former roommates haven't GTL'd with him in quite some time.
“Mike ‘The Situation’ went off that dark path and turned into a d***, and we distanced ourselves from him," said Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio. "Which is kind of sad.”
The Situation first picks up Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi for the road trip, which he wanted to end in Seaside, New Jersey (where Jersey Shore was filmed) but admits that the town didn't want them to make a big production there. Snooki hasn't hung out with him in years and is first a bit icy, but quickly warms up to him and forgives him for being a bully on the show, saying, "But that was your role, I guess."
Later, once the trio have picked up Jenni "JWOWW" Farley and Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, The Situation tries to mend his broken fences. He admits that he doesn't know what's going to happen with his court case but wants to make sure everyone knows he's sorry and he loves them just in case he doesn't get to see them for a while.
Their Reunion Road Trip ends with forgiveness, hugs and good feelings and luckily, the only thing anyone wanted to beat up was the beat.
