The Real Housewives of Potomac Returns for Season 5 This August
The RHOPcast is back with a new Housewife and new drama this summer.
The wait is finally over! The Real Housewives of Potomac will return for Season 5 on Sunday, August 2 at 9/8c.
It was previously announced earlier this spring that the premiere of RHOP Season 5 had shifted back to summer 2020. "It’s a smart decision. The virus has shifted production schedules for all our shows," Andy Cohen, who is an executive producer of The Real Housewives, tweeted on April 23. "There are currently two great Housewives series running [The Real Housewives of New York City and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills]. Would rather have fresh content later than none."
The Potomac Housewives are "going strong" in Season 5, as Karen Huger says in the above sneak peek. We'll catch up with the grande dame, as well as her fellow returning cast members Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Robyn Dixon, and Monique Samuels in the new season.
They will, however, be joined by a new Housewife, Wendy Osefo, a professor, political analyst, entrepreneur, wife, and mother of three, who we've already gotten to know through Bravo and E!'s Instagram Live panel, Amplify Our Voices: An Open Dialogue on Being Black in America, on June 15. "Wendy is Black Girl Magic personified," Candiace says of her new friend in the trailer for RHOP Season 5. "She could read a book, honey, and she could read you down."
Wendy will soon learn that it's not always easy navigating this social circle. Even though the other ladies have been friends for years, it looks like this year they will encounter some unprecedented challenges, especially after some serious drama between Monique and Candiace rocks the group.
Of course, the women of RHOP also always know how to touch us with what's going on in their personal lives. We'll see Gizelle and Robyn work on rekindling their romances with their respective exes, Karen open up about her "institution" of a marriage like never before, and Ashley encounter some new rumors about her husband, Michael Darby. We'll also see Monique juggling life with three kids and a new bird, as well as Candiace contemplating starting a family of her own.
