What Does Slade Smiley Do for a Living? We Finally Have the Answer
He's been very busy since his time on The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Slade Smiley's career and finances were often a topic of conversation on The Real Housewives of Orange County. But he wants you to know that he kept plenty busy during his time on RHOC and beyond.
Slade shared what he's been up to since we last saw him on RHOC when appeared on Radio Andy's Jeff Lewis Live with his fiancée Gretchen Rossi on Monday. He currently works for a company in the security space and serves on the boards of two other companies. "I'm an adviser to two boards in Dallas, actually, which is an entertainment-based company, so they do the large screens in stadiums," he said. "We did the screens in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. We did screens in hospitals. Dallas Medical is one of the ones we just booked."
When Slade was on RHOC, he said he had been consulting for a different company. Fans also saw him host his own radio show. Slade discussed those projects during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in 2014, which you can check out, above.
Slade's longtime love Gretchen has been just as successful in her career. Before RHOC, she was an uber-successful real estate agent in the top 7 percent internationally for Coldwell Banker. "I did really well for myself. At 26, I was making $1 million a year. I bought my own house, I bought my own cars, I bought all this stuff," Gretchen told Jeff Lewis. "Everyone thinks that [late fiancé] Jeff [Beitzel] gave me everything, and that's not what happened."
Despite reports, Gretchen said that she did not inherit money from Jeff after he passed away from cancer in 2008. "I didn't need that," she said. "People thought I was with Jeff for money, but that was not the case. And I was making my own money."
These days, Gretchen's main source of income comes from her Gretchen Christine line of beauty products, luggage, handbags, and accessories, which she launched nine years ago. Jeff explained that the company has since been bought by a larger company, which has brought an influx of capital into Gretchen Christine, allowing the business to develop more product. "You're a smart businesswoman," Jeff complimented Gretchen.
We'd definitely have to agree.
We'll catch up with what the RHOC squad is up to in an all-new episode Monday at 9/8c. Check out a sneak peek, below.
