A decade after it first hit the airwaves, The Real Housewives of Miami is in development on the streaming network, Peacock.
According to a press release on Wednesday (February 17), "After much fan demand, The Real Housewives of Miami is in development at Peacock."
RHOM premiered in 2011 and aired on Bravo for three seasons. "The Real Housewives of Miami is produced by Purveyors of Pop with Matt Anderson, Nate Green and Cooper Green serving as executive producers. Andy Cohen will also executive produce," the press release further noted about the news.
It was also confirmed on Wednesday that the series, Ex Rated, was picked up to air on Peacock. According to the press release, "Peacock announces daring and provocative unscripted series Ex Rated with pop culture connoisseur Andy Cohen (Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen) as host and executive producer."
The show "explores the growing trend of adult singles who send standardized 'exit surveys' to all of their previous romantic partners – from long-term relationships to casual hook-ups – to learn why their relationships never materialized or simply didn’t last. Ex Rated is a revealing social experiment that looks at sex and relationships in a whole new light – it will be hilarious, shocking, awkward and even informative. The series will challenge adult singles of all ages and backgrounds to face raw, unfiltered feedback on everything from their personality to sexual prowess and relationship skills in order to find out where they went wrong and how they can improve. "
Andy reacted to the news on Twitter, writing, "Very excited about both these shows!"
“Peacock is committed to expanding the breadth and depth of our content and pushing the boundaries of compelling storytelling across genres,” Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said in a statement about the upcoming slate of Peacock Originals. “I am excited to unveil a dynamic slate of new programming that truly offers something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of comedy, reality, true crime or sports.”
