D'Andra Simmons on Brandi Redmond's Adoption of Her Baby Boy: "This Is Really the Completion of Her Happy Family"
Here's what it's like having a new little one in The Real Housewives of Dallas crew.
There's a new kid in town on The Real Housewives of Dallas! Brandi Redmond adopted a baby boy, Bruin Charles, at the beginning of this year, and he was finally introduced to all of the Lone Star ladies on RHOD.
Even though there was still some tension between Brandi and D'Andra Simmons at the Bubbles and Bru party Stephanie Hollman threw to reveal Brandi's new baby boy, D'Andra recently told The Daily Dish that she couldn't have been happier to hear about the new addition. "When I heard that Brandi had adopted a baby boy, I was very excited for her. I know that [Brandi's husband] Bryan [Redmond] had wanted a baby boy for a long time; I know they struggled with fertility issues in the past, and I was happy for her. It looks like this is really the completion of her happy family that she wanted for so long," she shared. "She and Bryan have a good relationship. He adores that baby. The girls love the baby. I love those girls. We have so much fun together. And they're all just really happy and centered and grounded, and I think it was the right decision for them."
LeeAnne Locken told The Daily Dish in a separate interview that she actually wasn't surprised by the news, knowing that Brandi and Bryan had long wanted to have a sibling for their daughters Brooklyn, 9, and Brinkley, 6. "I think the fact that she was able to find a sweet, little ginger baby who needed someone to adopt him forever, I think it was kind of like fate. Seriously, how many ginger babies are there in the world?" she said. "So the fact that Brandi found a ginger, it's just God saying, 'This is what is supposed to be.'"
LeeAnne said that she hasn't spent much time with Bruin, but D'Andra said she has shared a few moments with the little one, although she's really been connecting with Brandi's daughters recently. "He's a baby, so he's sleeping or eating," she said. "But I spend time with the girls, and we kind of have a little hula hoop contest. So far I'm not winning, even though I have a bigger booty [laughs]. But I'm hopeful."
Brandi said she knew Bruin was a Redmond from the second she brought her little boy home. "Oh my gosh, this is my baby, and he's home, And it's the same feeling that I got bringing my little girls home for the first time," she gushed in RHOD: Brandi Redmond's Baby Story, which you can check out, above. "It's just like what Bryan said. It's meant to be."
