The Morning After: Wedding Bell Blues
Miss the latest Jill and Bethenny drama from last night's NYC? Catch the recap here!
Can you smell the organza? Wedding season must be right around the corner! Bethenny is engaged, Ramona has asked daughter Avery to be her maid of honor, and Kelly has found the shortest cocktail dress any leggy socialite would die for. In last night's Real Housewives of NYC we saw a bit of bling, talks of the perfect man, and hugs of congratulations (read: apology). It seems the housewives are almost ready to celebrate.
When Kelly hosted a party for Gotham Magazine all of the housewives were in attendance. Each donning their most stunning NYC fashions (Did you see Alex's wow-worthy leotard & fringe?), the housewives greeted one another with mutual approval. That is until Bethenny walked in. Upon spying her least favorite frenemy, Jill immediately relocated to the other side of the party. And once again we are reminded of the divide between former bffs, Jill and Bethenny.
After each housewife struck a pose for the other, Bethenny and Jason announced their engagement to the group. Kelly, either a perfect host, or complete and utter gossip, immediately ran over to Jill and Luanne to not-so-coyly mention the news. When Jason walked by Kelly grabbed his attention with congrats. Jason's shining moment of the season thus far: Asking "You're not mad at me too, are you?" to Jill. A bold move from a seemingly low-key guy. Hats off to you, Jason!
By the end of the evening, Jill knew she needed to say something to Bethenny. Was she starting to feel left out? Probably. But in her first attempt to save the friendship, we're not too sure her well wishes came off very positively. Bethenny claimed that her ring was the only thing that had excited Jill. While it's true that Jill Zarin loves her material things, it's obvious that she has a heart too. Last night, Bethenny chose not to see it. A forced hug was exchanged, and Bethenny admitted she'd had it "up to here" with the Jill drama. And just when we thought things might get better... Here's hoping that these two let down their guard at the same time next week!
