The 'Million Dollar Decorators' Eye the Bravolebs' Homes
The Decorators are dying to help the 'Housewives' -- and one's already booked for the job.
Design buffs get ready –- we are getting ever closer to the premiere of Million Dollar Decorators! On May 31, the house porn begins, giving you a glimpse into some fabulous (and we mean Sharon Osbourne-level fabulous) pads of the rich and famous.
But when we asked the Decorators what they thought of their fellow Bravo stars abodes they weren't too adoring.
"I think any of those Real Housewives all need our help," said Kathryn Ireland. "Whether it's the wives of Atlanta, New York, New Jersey -- any of them they could all use it because their houses are all slightly desperate, in my opinion."
And Martyn Lawrence Bullard agreed, saying the 'Wives "seem to have a lot of money, but not a lot of style going on." He was particularly concerned for his friends the Beverly Hills ladies and had specific designs for Lisa Vanderpump inspired by his dinners at Villa Blanca and Sur.
"[When you eat at her restaurants] it feels like you're in Marbella or something," Martyn opined. "And I feel she should translate a bit more of that South of France/Southern Spain flavor to her own home. So one of the things I think we should do is amp up her style quota because she's got great style -- we need to see more of it coming out of her own home."
Martyn will have his wish soon, as another Bev Hills lady asked for his assistance.
"Camille Grammer has just reached out to me and said that when she buys her new house she actually wants me to redecorate it for her," Martyn said.
Martyn said he's pretty familiar with her current pad (the locale of a certain dinner party from hell). He claims to have attended a few of the "wildest, funnest, fancy dress parties" there. Hopefully those shindigs were electronic cigarette free!
Also not free from the decorators' discerning eye was Rachel Zoe. The style icon's home would be a dream "project" for Jeffrey Alan Marks.
"I think I'd just clean it up, make it a little bit more in line with her fashion taste," Marks said. "A little cleaner, a little bit more hip, not so scary, more decoration, more life to it."
Rachel Zoe not hip? Now that's bananas!
Tune in for more from the MDD crew on May 31 at 10/9 c, but if you absolutely can’t wait until then, check out their portfolios now.
