The Countess Goes Broadway

LuAnn lends eleganza to the Actors Fund benefit.

Been looking for an event that satisfies your love of Real Housewives and musical theater? Listen up: The Real Housewives of New York City's LuAnn de Lesseps is lending her trademark title to a beloved New York fundraiser.

The Bravoleb signed on for The Actors Fund 17th Annual "Nothing Like a Dame" benefit on Monday, March 26, which raises money to help provide health care for struggling actors.  The Great White Way glitterati shining alongside LuAnn include yell-tastic comic Mario Cantone, legendary Sondheim star Elaine Stritch, and iconic Muppet-esque comedy writer Bruce Vilanch. Oodles of chanteuses (Broadway baby Polly Bergen, opera singers Talise Trevigne and Lauren Flanigan) will join comedic tornado Jackie Hoffman and others for an evening of stories and songs.

The night's theme is "Their Favorite Things," based on Playbill.com's popular column. The Actors Fund explains, "Favorite performers from stage and screen will take the audience on a tour of their favorite shows and performances, highlighting those unforgettable nights in the theatres that have that influenced their careers."  So, maybe a LuAnn/Elaine Stritch duet of "Money Can't Buy You Class"? Oh, and high-end ticket buyers can rub elbows with the cast during an after party at John's Pizzeria.  Musical theater and a pizza party?  That helps struggling actors get health care?  We're in.
