Teddi Mellencamp Reveals How She Plans to Move “Forward” From “Mistakes” Amid Separation
The RHOBH alum is looking "forward" to the new year and what 2025 has in store after a transformative 2024 that included her split from Edwin Arroyave.
Teddi Mellencamp is looking "forward" to the new year after filing for divorce from her husband, Edwin Arroyave, in 2024. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum announced that she would be getting a divorce from Edwin in November, after more than a decade of marriage. But the mom of three is now looking to forge her path ahead in 2025.
The Two T's in a Pod podcast co-host took to her Instagram feed on Jan. 1, where she posted a photo of herself staring contemplatively in front of a podcast microphone. Teddi might be feeling as pensive as she looks in this photo as she heads into this new year, taking to the caption of the post to reveal her goals for 2025.
"Every New Year, I pick a word to guide me. In 2025, my word is a mindset as well as an action: FORWARD," she wrote in the caption of the post. "Forward from my mistakes. Forward to allowing myself to not be perfect. Forward to celebrating all my failures. Forward to celebrating all my successes. Forward from the judgment of others. Forward to continue to love myself."
"I'm looking forward to a year of potential, opportunity, growth, and peace. I hope you are too," she concluded.
Teddi Mellencamp rang in 2025 with her kids
A day earlier, on New Year's Eve, Teddi took to Instagram where she showed off how she rang in 2025 with her adorable kids — daughters Slate and Dove Arroyave, and son, Cruz Arroyave. In the photo, Teddi can be seen wearing a black corset, black jeans, and black knee-high boots, posing with a prop champagne glass, smiling next to the three kids who showed off their best-excited faces.
But, in the caption of the post, Teddi revealed that she didn't exactly let all three kids stay up past their bedtime. "Raise your hand if you don't realize you are celebrating the ball drop at 9 PM PST," she wrote. "Who lets their kiddos stay up until midnight local time on NYE (and how do you do it)?"
Details on Teddi Mellencamp's Christmas 2024 without her kids
Although Teddi did ring in the new year with her children, she spent this Christmas alone. Teddi took to her Instagram Story on Dec. 25, where she revealed that she was spending her Christmas at BFF Kyle Richards' Encino home, while Kyle celebrated Christmas in Aspen.
"In my Bridget Jones era. If I didn’t laugh at myself, I would cry. First Christmas without my kids, and I know they’re in great hands with an amazing dad, but that doesn’t mean I can’t feel some type of way," she wrote on Instagram. "Ordered $74 of Thai food, eating cookie dough (who has time to bake) and watched 9 episodes of Lioness. To all my parents out there going through this, I love you. What are all the tips for powering through?"
Kyle had some thoughts on the matter, commenting on Teddi's Instagram: "Ted! Also, watching you do this in my bedroom is making me LOL Love you."
But, Teddi used this time alone to focus on herself, indulging in leftover Thai food, putting on a face mask for a "little self care," and lounging by Kyle's gorgeous pool. But she wasn't alone for too long. "Back to the kiddos tomorrow," she captioned one photo, posted to her Instagram Story.
Why Teddi Mellencamp is grateful for Edwin Arroyave
During this time between Christmas and New Year's Eve, Teddi also reflected on the role Edwin has played in her life. Teddi took to her Instagram feed, where she posted a series of throwback photos of her and Edwin, and expressed her gratitude for meeting him 16 years ago.
"I will forever be grateful for that night at Coco Deville," she wrote in the caption of the post. "I would never have known I wanted kids until meeting my amazing stepdaughter, Isabella. My love for her changed my life and 5 years later came Slate, then Cruz, and then our miracle baby Dove in 2020. I may be far from perfect but being a mother has been the greatest gift you could have given me. Thank you always and forever."
