Kenya Moore Explains *That* Bombshell Rumor About Tanya Sam's Fiancé Paul Judge
Kandi Burruss weighs in on whether The Real Housewives of Atlanta entrepreneur was just being "messy."
As if getting to the bottom of the so-called Snakegate wasn't enough — in the most dramatic fashion, no less — The Real Housewives of Atlanta ladies spilled some more piping hot tea during the January 12 episode.
Kenya Moore started a lively discussion about infidelity while out to dinner with the rest of the RHOA crew during their girls' trip to Toronto, Canada (clip above). She asked the ladies that if they heard someone's man in the group was cheating, would they want to know. Kenya then asked how they would feel if a woman came up to them and told them one of the ladies' men hit on her.
Little did most of the people at the table know that Kenya actually wasn't speaking in hypotheticals. Two months prior to the Toronto trip, a woman came up to Kenya and Cynthia Bailey while they were at a cookie shop and told them that Tanya Sam's fiancé, Paul Judge, was flirting with her and buying her drinks during one night out.
Kenya never named any names or even said that she was referring to something that really happened. However, Cynthia and Kandi Burruss both knew about the rumors about Tanya's fiancé and had a feeling that's exactly what Kenya was talking about.
Kenya explained on Twitter as the episode aired that she wasn't being malicious when she brought up the topic. "I actually liked Tanya at that point in the show," she tweeted. "IF I was going to tell her I would have. As I said in my interview, if someone is going to find out anything about their man, it won’t be from me."
When a producer asked Kenya why she asked the question during an interview in the episode, she replied, "If I'm putting that question out there, maybe, just maybe, I'm asking for myself, considering the state of my own marriage."
Kenya has opened up about some issues in her marriage to Marc Daly this season of RHOA. The couple announced their separation in September 2019. However, neither Kenya nor Marc has filed for divorce yet.
Though some have accused Kenya of being "messy" during that dinner, such as Porsha Williams, who said as much during the episode, Kandi came to her friend's defense during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on January 12 (clip below).
"I guess it depends on your opinion. I feel like it doesn't matter what she does, people are gonna say that Kenya's being messy. Now mind you, she did bring it up. We do make little jokes and bring stuff up, but she never said the girl's name, ever. She never said Paul's name. She never said their name, period," Kandi said. "So, to me, it's like, yeah, you could say she was trying to get people talking, but if nobody else except for Cynthia and I really had an idea of what was going on, nobody would have ever known what was happening."
