This Is Why Tamra Judge Feels Shannon Beador Needed Some "Tough Love"
The RHOC BFFs faced off in Jamaica and it got intense.
Shannon Beador and Tamra Judge were definitely not seeing eye to eye during Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Orange County girls' trip to Jamaica, which aired Monday. Tamra was hoping to shake Shannon out of her funk with some fun. It seemed like the fitness guru was also dealing with lingering issues about their friendship — even when Shannon felt like they had moved on. Those feelings culminated in Shannon trying to defend herself to the group, and a shouting match commenced between the two besties.
Shannon and Tamra both reflected on the heated confrontation when they recently stopped by The Daily Dish offices (above), and when Tamra spoke to Us Weekly, she looked back on that trip.
“Shannon and I go through what I like to call a little tough love … Because she was really stuck in a place and she just needed to snap out of it,” Tamra said. “I feel like she was just not moving forward. She was just always the Debbie Downer ... She was just having a hard time and I get it, but sometimes you know what? You just gotta force yourself to move forward. I think I kind of kicked her in the butt.”
Tamra elaborated a bit more about that emotional night in her cast blog: "Everyone was coming from a place of concern that night, and I just don’t understand how Shannon can’t see it. When you continue to complain about the same thing over and over again and do nothing about it, I can’t feel sorry for you anymore. You have choices in life. Either you can be happy or you can be miserable. I told Shannon it’s time for her to flip the switch and be happy."
Shannon, who revealed a bit more about what was going through her mind in the video above, also opened up a bit about the episode in her cast blog, noting that she wasn't quite ready to fully dive in on it just yet.
"This is a very difficult episode for me to watch. First, to re-live the pain I was going through at the time in a fairly new separation, but also to hear what my friends were saying behind my back," she wrote. "It can only get better from here. Until next week..."
