Love is in the air on Summer House! Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula are officially engaged, The Daily Dish has confirmed.
Kyle and Amanda dish more on their engagement in the exclusive video, above. Press play to find out why it feels "beyond weird" that Kyle put a ring on it, according to Amanda, and get a glimpse of her gorgeous ring.
Amanda recently told PEOPLE that it feels "surreal" to be engaged to Kyle. “Aside from how funny and sexy he is, Kyle’s my best friend. He’s the person I go to for everything. And he forces me to be a better person in different ways by pushing me outside of my comfort zone," she gushed. "Life with him is exciting. And to think he wants to spend the rest our his life with me and I feel the same way, it’s just a real happy feeling.”
Kyle added, “Amanda’s the most authentic, genuine person I’ve ever met. I really look up to her. She’s incredibly selfless, thoughtful, generous and accommodating. She puts family and friends as the top priority, and bends over backwards for the people that are important to her. That’s what you look for in someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. She’s a hell of a partner.”
Kyle and Amanda first met in 2015, and we've watched their relationship evolve over the past two seasons of Summer House. Though things don't always run smoothly for couples in the Summer House, Kyle and Amanda always found their way back to each other and reaffirmed their commitment to making this relationship work.
Kyle and Amanda were still going strong following Season 2 of Summer House, although they had not yet moved in together, as Amanda had wanted. "Nothing really has changed after the end of Summer House [Season 2]. We're still living in our own apartments. I still only have a key. I still don't have a toothbrush. There's no drawer. But we're really strong. There's more conversations about marriage and moving in. And I think the relationship is getting a little bit more serious, and I've made it very clear that [Kyle's] getting old. If I'm not the one, you should probably break up with me because you're wasting your time," Amanda explained during an interview with The Daily Dish in April. "But we're headed in a really good direction. And like I said, our relationship is stronger than it's been. We've had some really tough fights, but fighting, I think, is important in a relationship because it means you're passionate about something. So we've been able to work things out and figure out things that bother us about each other or how to have conversations in a way that won't transpire into an argument."
The leases on Kyle and Amanda's New York City apartments were up this August, so the Summer House couple was anticipating making that decision about whether to move in together or not when The Daily Dish caught up with them in April. Amanda was spotted moving out of her apartment in her Instagram Stories in August, but it's unclear where she was off to.
Kyle also told The Daily Dish in April that the two had been talking about marriage. He even hinted that he was getting closer to popping the question following his brother, Cory Cooke's, wedding at the end of March. "Watching my brother get happily married has given me confidence that I am capable of settling down and committing to someone," Kyle shared on Instagram in April. "Every relationship will face challenges, and it’s never been more clear after watching how Amanda has handled the #summerhouse fallout with our 'supportive friends' that she is the most patient, compassionate, and loving person I know. Her ability to see the good in everyone is beyond admirable and I’m proud of her for always taking the high road. But that’s just who she is - sweet and sincere."
