Kyle Cooke Reveals What “You Didn’t Get to See” from His and Amanda Batula’s Wedding
Plus, check out all the memorable moments shared by Summer House cast members from Kyle and Amanda’s epic wedding day.
There’s no question that it’s been quite a journey for Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula to finally make it to the altar and say “I do” to each other. In addition to a summer filled with ups and downs in the Hamptons, a three-year engagement, and several rescheduled wedding dates amid a global pandemic, the pair have dealt with their fair share of challenges, all leading up to the Summer House couple’s long-awaited walk down the aisle. And recently, Kyle took to Instagram to not only reflect on finally tying the knot but also share several of the memorable and uplifting moments he experienced with Amanda ahead of their special day, which the lovebirds got to relive during the epic Season 6 finale.
“More sneak peeks! Actually these are just all the happy moments that you didn’t get to see,” Kyle wrote in the caption of his May 1 post, which featured some of the unforgettable moments the Summer House couple experienced together as they planned their wedding. “Swipe [left] for a few milestones leading up to our big day,” Kyle added in the caption of his post, which included captures from Amanda’s bridal shower, their tasting menu experience with their caterer, shopping for wedding bands, and the cake tasting with Amanda’s mom and dad, which was featured in the April 18 episode.
Kyle also included the couple’s original save-the-date card from when they first planned to say “I do” in September 2020, which was delayed to June 2021, and then ultimately pushed back to this September, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
After reliving the joyous occasion via the Season 6 finale, Kyle opened up about his and Amanda’s wedding in an Instagram post, calling it, “the happiest day of my life.” He shared a series of sweet captures from their nuptials alongside a heartfelt caption: “Nothing compares to the feeling of marrying your best friend and letting your other best friend make it official. I know we aren’t the role model couple — we have our flaws and we put them all out there for everyone to judge — but we both know what true love is and what’s worth fighting for. I realize that our family, friends and fans don’t get to see everything (especially the happy parts that make for boring TV) so I want to thank everyone for their love and support through our ups and downs. I think we were thrown every possible curveball during our 3 year engagement, 2 TV shows, and 1 crazy ride running [Loverboy] during a pandemic, but here we are. Husband and wife!”
Kyle continued to candidly express how much his relationship with Amanda means to him, writing, “To [Amanda], I know I’ve given you every reason to doubt me, so I thank you for looking past all of that and seeing and loving me for me and believing in us. I’m still a work in progress, but I’m fully committed to being the best husband and father I can be, and I thank you for helping me grow up and become a better man. Because of you, I have a newfound meaning of love, respect, and purpose. When I’m with you, I’m the best man that I can be.”
Kyle also recently reflected on his and Amanda's road to the altar by sharing a throwback moment to the couple’s memorable engagement in September 2018. “Before tonight’s episode, I wanted to take everyone back to the moment before I put on my jacket and got down on one knee,” Kyle wrote in the caption of his May 2 post, which featured a series of captures from the proposal.
He went on to reminisce about the special day, adding, “Amanda had zero clue what was about to happen, which is kind of a wild thought when I look at her in this first pic. In the 2nd pic, we prematurely toasted with champagne [because] she accidentally saw it on ice in the cabin so I popped it to avoid suspicion. The rest of the pics are history, including the producers in our chase boat cheering for us (I was so happy that was included in the edit — our crew is like family to us). September 2nd, 2018 will be a day I’ll never forget.”
This isn’t the first time Kyle has looked back on his and Amanda’s relationship leading up to their wedding. Kyle recently posted another throwback photo from where the Summer House couple finally tied the knot, in the backyard of Amanda’s parents’ New Jersey home.
“Sneak peek! This is the very spot you’ll see Amanda and me tie the knot tomorrow night. It still gives me butterflies thinking back to this moment, especially when I think about everything that led up to it (3 other venues, 5 other dates),” Kyle wrote in the caption of his post, adding, “We pulled off the wedding of our dreams and I got to marry the woman of mine [Amanda].”
Amanda also didn’t hold back expressing how she felt about her relationship leading up to her and Kyle’s wedding. She shared on her Instagram Stories, writing, in part, “Whether you love us, hate us, think we are great together or can’t believe we went through with it, doesn’t matter. It hasn’t been easy, but we’ve shared our entire relationship with you — the ups and downs, the good and bad, the happy and sad, and now our wedding — so for that, you are welcome.”
Of course, Kyle and Amanda weren’t the only ones in the Summer House crew to share all the unforgettable moments from the momentous occasion, as several of their Hamptons roomies, including Luke Gulbranson, Lindsay Hubbard, Andrea Denver, and Kyle and Amanda’s honorary officiant, Carl Radke, took to Instagram to celebrate and reveal heartwarming captures from the couple’s epic wedding day. Danielle Olivera also shared on Instagram, "A happy sending."
