#SouthernCharm Stars Host Fundraiser for Abused Dog
Cameran Eubanks and Shep Rose come to the rescue of Caitlyn, a pitbull in Charleston.
Last week, images of Caitlyn, a North Charleston dog whose muzzle had been taped tightly shut with electrical tape, circulated online and broke hearts everywhere.
The beautiful 18-month-old bull terrier mix's muzzle was severely swollen when she was rescued and brought into the Charleston Animal Society. Court documents reportedly state that Caityln's tongue was "significantly swollen, significantly bruised, discolored (dark purple) and oozing blood."
While Caitlyn shows signs of improving, the veterinarians treating her say her recovery will be a long and painful one - which also means it will be very expensive. That's where the cast of Southern Charm comes in.
Shep Rose and Cameran Eubanks, along with Landon Clements's pal K. Cooper Ray, will host a fundraiser for Caitlyn next Tuesday. The event will take place at the Republic Garden and Lounge in downtown Charleston and the $10 cover charge will go directly to a fund benefiting the Charleston Animal Society.
Cameron and Cooper have both tweeted their support for Caitlyn and Charleston Animal Society.
Fortunately, the man who accused of abusing Caitlyn has been arrested, but she still faces a tough road ahead. "Her life is not going to be easy even if she completely recovers," Aldwin Roman, an investigator for CAS, told Fox Charleston. Roman says the Cailtyn will be "permanently disfigured and permanently disabled for the rest of her life. She's healing but the damage is done."
Still the CAS staff remain optimistic, "We have the greatest of hopes for this beautiful girl!" they wrote in an Instagram caption of this pic of Caitlyn holding a large treat in her muzzle.
