Katie Maloney Has a Major Update on the Opening of Something About Her: "We’re So Excited"
“I can see the light at the end of the tunnel," the Vanderpump Rules cast member said while sharing exciting news about her and Ariana Madix's sandwich shop.
In January, Katie Maloney shared an update about her sandwich shop, Something About Her, with BravoTV.com. "We're on other people's time at this point," Katie explained during the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premiere party of the West Hollywood spot she co-owns with Ariana Madix. "It's just literally waiting on physical copies of permits so we can get the final permit that we need. It's a waiting game."
More recently, the Vanderpump Rules cast member gave another update about the shop, detailing exactly what's happening on the business side.
Katie Maloney explains the delays in opening Something About Her
Earlier in February, Katie appeared on Nikki Bella and Brie Garcia's podcast, The Nikki & Brie Show, and went into detail about exactly why Something About Her has been delayed in opening.
“I think people really, genuinely think this is some kind of conspiracy theory when we’ve said so many times that like, we’ve truly been at the mercy of these different agencies and people that assign or give these permits out,” Katie shared. “It's hard because, especially in West Hollywood, they don’t operate the same way the greater Los Angeles does. By the time you get someone to come out and do whatever inspection you need to, which can sometimes take weeks, if there's any kind of repairs or changes you need to make, then that takes the period of time and then you've gotta get them to come back. "

“It hasn’t even been a year since we actually started work on the property," Katie continued. “We acquired it. We took over the lease way before we were even prepared to. But we didn’t want to let it go so it feels like we’ve been working on this for a lot longer than we technically have."
Katie Maloney gives an exciting update on Something About Her's permit situation
Despite the challenges, Something About Her is now one step closer to officially opening. "Finally, we do have all the permits that we needed in order to get the final one," Katie shared. "We just needed all those physical copies before they would come out and do the final walkthrough that we need."
“I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it’s just having to be patient," she continued. "We just had to be patient. And just kind of like roll with the punches and just like, take things as they come and just kind of get it done. You want to make sure that you’re doing everything that’s required of you. You don’t wanna get fined. You don’t want to go through all this just to close. It would be awful.”
“It is not easy but we’re so excited. It’s gonna be so great,” she concluded.

The shop, which was designed by director Nancy Meyer's production designer, Jon Hutman, is supposed to give a vibe that is "very California yet European" and exhibits "main character energy." Check out the photos below and press play on the video above for the full tour.
