Why Shep Rose Officially Took the “Plunge” (Shirtless) This New Year (PHOTO)
The Southern Charm cast member had a very revealing start to 2025 while on vacation in the Grenadines.
Shep Rose started off 2025 in a very revealing way. The Southern Charm cast member is never too afraid to take the plunge in his life, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he took a polar plunge at the start of the new year.
Shep rang in 2025 not in his cozy Isle of Palms home (as seen in the video above), but on vacation in the Grenadines. He took to his Instagram Story on Jan. 1, where he revealed that he was on the beach at a resort in the Caribbean, ready to wake up his body. Shep spoke to his Instagram followers wearing blue and pink floral printed swim trunks, covering his bare chest with his arms. "So here we are, down in the southern Caribbean in Canouan, doing the polar plunge," he explained in the video. "Pray for me!"
Shep then ran down the shore, into the ocean, before diving in and floating on his back. "Equatorial plunge," he captioned the snapshot. While this might have been the most "chill" way to start the year, Shep seemed to handle it like a champ. Nothing like diving into the ocean on Jan. 1 to really wake things up and start anew.
What does Shep Rose do for a living?
Traveling more will definitely be on the agenda for Shep in 2025, as that is what he spends the majority of his time doing. Shep appeared on Two T's in a Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge on Dec. 27, where he revealed that he invests for a living.
"I invest in things...I've got a lot of coals in the fire," he explained. "I think about me, I don't need much. I don't need a giant house, nor do I really want one. I just want to have the freedom to do the things that I love."

Before heading to the Caribbean, Shep spent Christmas with his family members. He took to Instagram on Dec. 25, where he posted a series of photos and videos from the big holiday, and showed off all of the amazing gifts that his family members got. And, yes, Shep's dog, Lil Craig, even got in on the fun but "tried to eat all his presents."
"Finally also got my dad a hummingbird feeder helmet. Which is funny because my dad is obsessed with hummingbirds. We basically have a sanctuary here in the NC [North Carolina] mountains," he wrote in the caption of the post. "And I got to enjoy 2 breakfasts."
Shep Rose reveals his plans to renovate his Isle of Palms house
Although he does not need much, Shep might have plans to build a bigger home. In a video tour of his house, Shep revealed that he has some plans to switch things up at his home base.
"The house...it's not very big, not a lot of bells and whistles," he explained during the tour. "I think one day soon I'll probably tear it down and build up a fancy house, but I don't need that right now. I'm gonna be smart [and] fiscally conservative. [I'll] keep my powder dry, as my father likes to say."
