Sarah Jessica Parker Has an Idea of Who Could Replace Kim Cattrall in Sex and the City 3
Did Carrie Bradshaw just throw more shade at Samantha Jones?
Kim Cattrall is definitively not interested in playing Sex and the City character Samantha Jones again, so it looks like Sex and the City 3 is out. Or is it? On the January 10 episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Sarah Jessica Parker suggested a possible solution for the casting issue.
Speaking to host Stephen Colbert, the actress had a witty answer at the ready when Colbert asked which part he would play in the seemingly ill-fated flick. "Well, there's an opening," the Divorce star laughed.
Playing innocent, Colbert asked, "Oh, really? Who do I have to act like? What would my character be like?" That's when Parker cut to the chase.
"Well, according to just very recent documentation about why we’re not making [Sex and the City 3 it] is because the part usually played by Kim Cattrall has been vacated. So, that’s what I mean. Perhaps you’d want to play Samantha?,” the actress asked.
The cheeky comment came after Cattrall gave interviews that seemed to shade her former co-stars, as well as double down on her decision not to appear in the film. But, now that SJP mentions it, we could see Colbert as a high-powered New York City publicist. Hey, maybe there's hope after all!
