Jenna Lyons Shows Off Diamond Ring "the Size of China" — and Clarifies Engagement Status
The Real Housewives marveled at the much-talked-about rock on Jenna's ring finger before she confirmed the news with some of her castmates.
Jenna Lyons’ romance with girlfriend Cass Bird has led to some speculation about their official status thanks to Jenna's engagement ring, but she didn’t mince words in the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Jenna got real with her castmates about THE engagement ring (yes, this one) that, in September 2023, took the internet by storm and opened the floodgates for a wave of congratulations after Jenna posted of a photo on Instagram of her wearing the sparkly rock on her ring finger. However, the fashion queen kept mum about any official plans to marry, and sources told PEOPLE the ring showcased on Jenna’s Instagram page actually wasn’t an engagement ring at all.
But in RHONY Season 15, Episode 4, Jenna confirmed it was the real deal, flashing off the stunning jewelry that newcomer Rebecca Minkoff called “a diamond ring the size of China.”
Is Jenna Lyons engaged?
Yes, Jenna Lyons is very much engaged to photographer Cass Bird, she admitted in the recent RHONY episode.
The former J. Crew president confessed as she and the rest of the RHONY cast enjoyed their time away at Erin Lichy’s Hamptons home. While gathered at the breakfast table, Jessel Taank and Sai De Silva asked to see Jenna’s ring up close, wondering if it was a promise ring.
Jenna confirmed, "It's an engagement ring."

(Of course, it is on Jessel's hand in this picture, as she was trying it on.)
But Jenna said “it was hard” to come out about the engagement, citing family as her reason.
“We were trying to keep it low-profile,” Jenna said.
“Well, what do you think?” Sai smiled. “The kids know what’s going on.”
Rebecca quipped that a ring of that size was not the way to keep things low-key.
It’s understandable why Jenna might be protective of her relationship since — as featured in RHONY Season 14 — a mainstream media outlet outed her as a queer woman more than a decade ago, something Jenna herself was unprepared to do at that time.
“While it was devastating and probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, I am so grateful for how incredibly gracious everyone at the [J. Crew] office was,” Jenna said in her confessional.
Many well wishes to the amazing couple as Season 15 continues.
