How Sarah Martindale’s "Crazy" RHOSLC Cameo Prepared Her for Sold on SLC: “Things Escalated..."
Sold on SLC agent Sarah Martindale is sharing new details on her appearance at Lisa Barlow's party on the RHOSLC premiere.
Before Sold on SLC viewers got to know Sarah Martindale, Bravo fans were first introduced to the real estate agent on the Season 5 premiere of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. While Sarah wasn't quite sure what to expect as she filmed her first-ever reality television appearance, it certainly wasn't the heated conflict that occurred between Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose during Lisa's Besos party.
"All of a sudden I see this glass flying right behind me," Sarah told The Daily Dish in a December 13 interview, referencing a moment in which Lisa threw a glass to the floor in frustration. "I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I didn’t know I had to wear a helmet for a party!’ It was so crazy. Things escalated so quickly. I wasn’t really expecting [that]."
"But I had so much fun watching all of them having their discussions and everything," she continued. "I was like, ‘Alright…a lot to learn over here.’ So much going on. It was fun."
Because it was her first time filming for Bravo, Sarah explained, "Before we started taping I was like, ‘Alright, I see cameras over here.’ I was studying the whole time... It was really interesting being there, and I absolutely loved it. I was like ‘I can’t wait to start filming for our show.’"
How does Sarah Martindale know Lisa Barlow?
Sarah is Lisa's realtor, as the same RHOSLC episode revealed. The series premiere of Sold on SLC gave a closer look at their relationship when Sarah showed Lisa a potential new home listed at $3,699,000.
However, with Sarah's guidance, Lisa ultimately decided against buying a new home and opted to build one instead.
What to expect from Sarah Martindale on Season 1 of Sold on SLC
Fans will get to know Sarah even more as Sold on SLC Season 1 continues. According to Sarah's BravoTV.com bio, "She brings the heat to Salt Lake City with her bold energy and vibrant personal style."
"At home, she’s a mom of two and wife to Chris, who happens to run Presidio’s biggest rival brokerage," the bio continues. "With Chris at her side, Sarah’s frustrations boil over when her allegiances are called into question at work."
Sarah Martindale opens up about her "conflict" with Jennifer Yeo
Viewers have already watched as Sarah continues to navigate the tricky dynamic between her husband and her broker, Jennifer Yeo. During Episode 1, Sarah and Jennifer had a tense sit-down after Chris' brokerage recruited several agents from Presidio. Later, the three of them sat down to discuss the issue and ultimately came to a point of resolution in Episode 2.
"Every time I’m in a conflict I like to look at every point of view," Sarah told The Daily Dish. "When I was going through that with Jen and my husband, I was like, ‘Let me see [her] point of view. Let me see why she’s so upset.’"
"I get that Presidio is her baby," Sarah continued. "She opened up in the first episode, she’s away from her family, she doesn’t have their support. Presidio is literally her family. So her agents are her [babies]. I am a mom too and I know how it is. If someone messes with my babies ... I’m a mama bear. Do not touch my kids. Do not mess with them. So I get that. I really understand that side of her, but also I have to stand up for myself. I can’t take the blame for something I did not do."
Their workplace dynamic also made it easier for Sarah to approach the conversation.
"It’s not like she’s my boss, she’s my broker," Sarah explained. "So I was like, ‘Alright, I can be a little bit more intense here so she understands me too.’ Because she is intense. I always follow — when I’m talking to a client or someone in the business — I try to follow their lead. If they’re more intense in a conversation, I follow their lead. If they’re more laid back, I go laid back too. I dance according with the song. She was being very intense with me, so I was like, ‘You know what? I’ll show you my intense side too.’"
