Rihanna Has Spoken: Here's How She Reacted to Being Mentioned on RHONY
The pop superstar has feelings about the buzzy Season 13 moment with Leah McSweeney and Ramona Singer.
Rihanna is a certified Bravo super fan and has been for quite a long time. So we're not surprised to learn that she's been tuning in weekly to the drama and fun taking place during Season 13 of The Real Housewives of New York City. And, ICYMI, the July 27 episode even included a moment in which the pop superstar got name checked. Oh, and, Rihanna has seen it and is now commenting on.
Let us set the scene: At Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer's joint birthday party, Ramona tried to say the name of Leah McSweeney's clothing brand, Married to the Mob, amid some drama around Luann de Lesseps' holiday song and music video. When Ramona suggested that the video can be used to promote her clothing brand, "Leah mob or mob something," it didn't exactly sit well with Leah.
"You're not exactly my demographic, so it's all good," Leah said. "I already have Rihanna wearing my s--t. Do you think I need you wearing my s--t?"
Well, Rihanna has spoken about the party moment. She posted a selfie of herself in one of the Married to the Mob designs and captioned the photo, "What was said [Ramona]?" Leah commented back, " I love you so much."
Leah also posted the Rihanna selfie to her Instagram and shared her take on Rihanna's reaction. "Yup [Rihanna] is a woman who supports women," Leah wrote. "And she’s also watching and enjoying RHONY Season 13."
And, in case you were wondering, Ramona is able to laugh off the flub by sharing a laughing/crying emoji as well as a shrug emoji on Instagram.
Speaking of Leah's connection to Rihanna, she opened up more about it back in 2020 during her first season on RHONY. "One of my most memorable New York City nights had to have been when I went to a Met Gala after party," Leah recalled to Bravo Insider last year. "I got introduced to Rihanna and she thought she knew me already — and she gave me a huge hug and was like, 'I know you!' and I was like, 'Actually, you don't know me. But, you wear my clothing line. You wear my brand, and thank you for that.'"
Leah posted a photo from the night to Instagram and shared more details about the encounter to Bravo Insider. "She was like, 'You're the girl that does that brand?' and I was like, 'Yeah!' She was like, 'Oh my god, come here!' [She] gave me a huge hug again and she was just so cool," she said. "That's definitely one of my best New York nights."
