Jessel Taank Reacts to "Old Money" Comments About Her in RHONY Sneak Peek
Is Jessel's English accent to blame? She explains why she took offense to Erin Lichy's comments during their coffee meeting in a new episode sneak peek.
Is being called a princess a compliment? What about being told you seem like you have “old money"?
Brynn Whitfield might think so — but not Jessel Taank, as she defends her “vibe” to the other ladies in a preview for Season 14, Episode 5 of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Preview for RHONY Season 14, Episode 5
As Jessel was holding a fashion party at her home for a client, Sai de Silva arrived. Having heard that Erin Lichy and Jessel met for coffee to talk and it didn’t go well, Sai asked Jessel more about the conversation.
“Oh, she called you a princess and you cried, didn’t you?” Sai asked Jessel, prompting Jessel to clarify what was said.
“She didn’t call me a princess,” Jessel said. “She said, ‘I think you like being catered to,’ and I was like, 'So you’re calling me a princess?' So, I took offense to that because I’m like you, like I came here with no money. I work my ass off. Maybe I give off like a certain vibe?”
But Sai kept pushing, telling Jessel, “You seem like you do come from money — seems like there’s some old money there — maybe it’s the English accent?”
“At this point, they’re just making assumptions based off of how I sound and how I look,” Jessel said in her confessional.
As Jessel and Sai ended their conversation, Brynn and Ubah Hassan came into the party. Sai jokingly said Brynn looks “pampered” and “like old money.”
To Brynn, this was the highest honor.
“I look like old money? Oh my god, that’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me,” Brynn said. “That’s the best compliment. I would love to be called a princess. Can I add that to LinkedIn?”
Watch the rest of the “princess” conversation on the next episode of The Real Housewives of New York City airing Sunday, August 13 at 9/8c on Bravo, and the next day on Peacock.
