#RHOM Drag Queen Elaine Lancaster Is a Real "Shero"
Find out how she saved a life while in Greece.
Elaine Lancaster, a drag queen who previously appeared on Real Housewives of Miami, is officially a real-life hero. While in Greece for a residency at @54 Club in Mykonos along with New York drag queens Brooks and Lady Bunny, the Miami-based performer rescued a man out of a burning car before the entire vehicle went up in flames. According to the Miami Herald, the act of heroism took place on Friday (July 24). Elaine (real name James Davis) reportedly saw the car on the street with three Italian tourists, two men and woman, inside. “I ran up the stairs and hopped over a little wall to get to the passengers side. The window as halfway down. I reached in and pushed his seat belt button. I opened the car door and grabbed him by the arm. He stood up in a daze,” Elaine told the paper. “Some people handle stress differently. He snapped out of it in the house and said, ‘You saved my life.’"
“I could smell they were burning the clutch,” she continued. “I said to the guy, ‘The car is on fire — I smell it.’ The girl says, that’s OK, OK. I said, ‘No, I see flames.’”
The women and one of the men managed to escape. “The guy on the passenger side, he sees fire coming out of the hood. It’s almost like he hypnotized. He’s frozen," recalled Elaine, who was not in her drag attire at the time. "He keeps staring at the hood.”
Brooks has since declared her pal "a Mykonos SHERO!” Additionally, Elaine later took to Twitter to thank everyone for their support following the incident.
