Read Ubah’s Surprising Fourth-Wall Breaking Text to Erin: “Pathetic”
Ubah Hassan called Erin Lichy out for her "manipulative actions" after the real estate guru claimed Ubah was "coming for" her on RHONY.
Ubah Hassan and Erin Lichy’s friendship is experiencing some major turbulence as accusations of “gaslighting” have been flying.
The pair’s friendship hit the rocks on The Real Housewives of New York City after Ubah accused Erin of “gaslighting” and, in turn, Erin began lamenting to others at Racquel Chevremont’s engagement party that she thought the model was “coming for” her — an accusation Ubah seemingly believed Erin started just to drum up more drama for the show.
Ubah let her feelings be known in a fourth-wall breaking text to Erin, calling her behavior “pathetic" and insinuating it might be done solely for the cameras.
Here's what to know about the text — and where they stand today.
What did Ubah Hassan’s text to Erin Lichy say?
Read the text in its entirety below:
“Hey Erin, I have been thinking about some things I heard last night and it’s surprising to hear certain narratives being spread without a direct conversation first. I’m curious why you’ve chosen to tell others that I might ‘come for you.’ It’s disappointing and unexpected that you didn’t discuss this with me directly first.”
“Now, it makes sense why you called before Racquel’s party — it felt like a preparation for something like this. It’s disconcerting to think this might be about seeking more attention for the show rather than building a genuine connection. I find this behavior pathetic Erin, I don’t want to deal with your manipulative actions anymore, and I refuse to put in the effort to figure out if we’re friends or not because we clearly aren’t. You bring too much drama, and that’s not the kind of energy I want in my life.”
Erin responded by writing “Ubah you called me a gaslighter and it hurt my feelings,” then added, “What did you hear last night?”
Why are Erin Lichy and Ubah Hassan fighting?
The drama can be traced back to Erin and Rebecca Minkoff’s faux pregnancy prank. When questions emerged about who was in on the prank and who wasn’t, Ubah accused Erin of gaslighting the others in the cast.
The comment didn’t sit well with Erin, who felt Ubah had it out for her.
“I’m telling you, she’s gunning for me and you know what? I’m not going to engage in it,” Erin told Jenna Lyons at Racquel’s party.
It didn’t take long before Jenna found Ubah and rehashed what Erin had just told her.
“We’re in trouble,” Jenna told her. “Erin thinks you’re coming after her. She told me that she thinks you’re coming after her.”
“Where’d that come from?” a confused Ubah asked.
Ubah insisted that she was concerned with her own problems, like doctors finding a fibroid in her uterus that could impact her fertility, and did not have it out for Erin.
“It’s ridiculous because Erin and I talk all the time,” she told producers. “Why are you telling them I’m coming for you when you and I talk like the night before?”
She added that she felt like Erin should have addressed her directly if she had a problem, rather than spread a rumor amongst the cast.
But later, Erin — who was packing meals with Citymeals on Wheels — had a different take on it.
While talking with Brynn, she referenced Ubah’s text and admitted she didn’t know where the two friends stood now.
“Instead of her coming to me and saying you know, ‘Hey babe, I heard you feel like I’m coming for you, what’s going on? Is everything OK?’ I get a text calling me a gaslighter and pathetic and messy and blah, blah, blah,” Erin told producers.
She expanded on her thoughts in her confessional saying the “best case scenario” was that the two hug and make up, while the worst case scenario would be that “this gets dragged out and we end up in a terrible fight.”
However, it seems like the two have since done the latter and made up. See what Erin and Ubah have to say today in the video, above.
