Randall Emmett's Film Midnight in the Switchgrass Suspends Production Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
The Vanderpump Rules fiancé's film crew is taking precautions to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Vanderpump Rules' Randall Emmett just made a big announcement about the film which will be his directorial debut: Production on Midnight in the Switchgrass is suspended due to the current coronavirus outbreak.
Lala Kent's fiancé shared on Instagram that due to COVID-19 concerns, they will be taking a break from the set in Puerto Rico where they were currently filming. "We have been shut down, thank you [Puerto Rico]. [We] will be back! Be safe everyone take care of each other and your families! [I'm] heartbroken but we need to do what’s right and be safe for one another," he wrote.
In a video, he expanded on his feelings about the shutdown. While Randall has produced many films, this was the first film he was directing, leaving him feeling "heartbroken" and "emotional" about the situation. However, he was also looking on the bright side and feeling grateful and optimistic.
"The crew in Puerto Rico has been everything; they are the strongest crew in the world. Our industry is the strongest industry in the world. They need to go home and look out for their families; we need to come home and look out for our families," Randall, a father of two daughters, said. "I just wish everyone to be safe out there. Take care of each other, be there for each other, be kind, we will all be back. God bless everyone."
One of the film's stars, Emile Hirsch, commented on Randall's video: "We will be back." (In addition to Hirsch, the film stars Megan Fox, Bruce Willis, Caitlin Carmichael, Michael Beach, Welker White, Colson Baker, aka musician Machine Gun Kelly, Lukas Haas, and Sistine Stallone.)
Randall's Instagram Stories also showed how rapidly the outbreak situation was evolving. A day earlier, he and the crew were enjoying stopping for Krispy Kreme doughnuts and savoring mango pops. He then shared some footage of the set, declaring, "We will be back!"
