Luann de Lesseps Compared Herself to Queen Latifah — Here's How the Rapper Responded
The hip-hop great weighed in on the RHONY pal's recent comments with four perfect words.
Luann de Lesseps isn't married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps anymore, having divorced in 2009. Still, that didn't stop The Real Housewives of New York City pal from calling her popular cabaret show "Countess & Friends." And when asked about the show's name, she's been known to defend its title — and her informal title — by bringing up Queen Latifah.
In the past, she's said: "Like Queen Latifah, is she really queen? I mean, right? ... So [the countess title is] a brand that I own as Luann de Lesseps." So, if you've ever wondered about how the hip-hop great feels about this comparison, you're in luck.
Queen Latifah stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on September 20 and weighed in on that very topic. While he had her in the hot seat, Andy said: "Your royal lineage has been called into question by a certain on-again, off-again countess all last season on The Real Housewives of New York City."
Queen Latifah then watched a clip of Luann talking about her royal title in several instances, before Andy said: "The Countess was really using this line a lot this season! Were you aware of it and what is your reaction?" Well, she had the perfect, four-word response, before elaborating a bit.
