La Fenice (La Jolla, CA)

Home to beloved children’s book author Dr. Seuss, this Venetian-style villa is a historical landmark, and a literary treasure. Built in 1902, the 10,000-square-foot home sits on half an acre, and boasts five court yards, a movie theatre, and $3 million of antiques. The kitchen of this six-bed, ten-bath home boasts hand-painted Italian tiles. And if you don’t feel like swimming in the property’s $500,000 pool, the beach is just four blocks away. This house is currently on the market for $12.95 million.

Hemlock (Roxbury, CT)

Located two hours outside of Manhattan, this 3,300-square-foot property was once home to Dustin Hoffman and Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell. The home is valued at $9.995 million.
