People's Poll: Is This Leonardo DiCaprio's Year For Oscar Gold?
The Couchers are abuzz with Leo's Oscar potential, but is 2016 finally his year? Vote now!
This week, The People's Couch was front row for Hollywood's booziest event: the Golden Globes. In the words of Coucher Emerson, "I usually like the Golden Globes more than the Oscars because everybody's drunk." Yes, Emerson, that's why we like them, too. But something sobered us right up — and no, it wasn't Ricky Gervais asking Mel Gibson that thing Ricky Gervais asked Mel Gibson (yikes). It was Leonardo winning an award for Best Actor in a Drama. Which means... could it be? Will our prayers finally be answered? Could this be the year for Leo's Oscar gold?!
This was the question on our Couchers' minds as the Revenant star accepted his Best Actor Award at the Globes. Couchers Destiny and Cathy are clearly pulling for the Titanic heartthrob as evidenced by their pleas to the screen and huge "OH. MY. GOD-UH" and "Good for you!" when Julianne Moore read his name. Brandy put his Oscar nomination past quite bluntly. "He always gets snubbed, 'cause he's a model f***er," she said. And while his career as an Oscar winner is still uncertain, Emerson noted he's a shoe-in for another role. "He's killing this audition for being Jack Nicholson for the next four decades," he explained. Of course, that would require the method actor to grab three Academy Awards in his acting tenure. Hear that, Academy?
But what do you think? Will Leo finally achieve the Oscar glory we have all been waiting for since he asked Rose to never let go? Or will the Academy snub the Wolf of Wall Street, Blood Diamond, Django Unchained, Aviator, Shutter Island, The Great Gatsby, Inception, The Departed, phew, actor yet again?
