Patti LaBelle to Singing Housewives: 'Stay in Your Lane!'
Danielle? Kim? LuAnn? No one makes the grade, says Patti.
Patti LaBelle didn't have any problems letting her opinion loose when Andy Cohen asked what she thought of Danielle Staub's "lesbian tortured lullaby" on Watch What Happens Live.
"You know how I feel about people who sing who can't sing," LaBelle said. "I don't mind saying it to your face. Boo, you can't sing. Okay, you're a beautiful woman." Then Ms. LaBelle goes on to call Danielle classy. Maybe she was confusing the singing NJ Housewife with "Money Can't Buy You Class" belter Countess LuAnn de Lesseps. Too bad the advice remains the same.
"The Countess. Don't ever, ever sing again. Kim, don't. Kandi, get paid. Next." Patti quips. "I gotta be real. I'm not going to sit up here and say yes they can sing. Heck no. They're beautiful women. Stay in your lane."
Do these rules apply to fabulous gay co-stars, also? The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Sheree Whitfield has a hairdresser aiming to follow in Kim Zolciak's Louboutin footsteps. Watch out world (and Patti), Lawrence Washington is ready to be the next Adam Lambert.
"I think it's time for an openly gay African American artist," he explains to Crushable. "We as a people are in a different place than we've been in years. I definitely think the market is open for someone like myself. I'm ready to let them have it."
Kim, do you have a plus one for next year's White Party?
