Paris Hilton Reveals New Details About Her “Iconic” 21st Birthday Dress
Kathy Hilton's daughter shared exactly where her moment-making Julien Macdonald dress is today.
If you know, you know: The year was 2002, and Paris Hilton turned 21 in a dazzling, barely-there Julien Macdonald mini dress, complete with a sparkling choker necklace. The dress's Y2k, of-the-moment splendor has since been the thing of modern fashion lore, leaving numerous copycat sheaths in its wake.
Paris spoke about the birthday dress' legacy on the December 11 Call Her Daddy podcast episode. Paris, who was joined by her Paris & Nicole: The Encore pal, Nicole Richie, fielded a question from host Alex Cooper about "one 2000s trend to wear for the rest of their lives."
"I would wear my 21st birthday dress," Kathy Hilton's daughter proudly proclaimed, adding of the sparkling sheath, "It's iconic; I love it."
When Cooper asked where the dress was at the moment, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills daughter proudly exclaimed, "In my closet."
As you can see in the images above, the stunning, asymmetrical sheath featured a cowl neck detail, halter neck, and a smoldering exposed back. Paris paired the look with strappy white heels, a super-short blonde hair cut, smudged smoky eyes, and a small baby pink handbag.

Paris has often channeled that signature birthday dress with various silver frocks.
Just recently, Paris performed at KIIS FM's iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in a mini dress that echoed the similar mesh sparkly fabric and cowl neck vibe of her old birthday dress.
The smoldering sheath, created by The Blonds (who also designed Paris' aunt Kyle Richards' RHOBH Season 12 reunion dress) featured long sleeves and several embellishments around the neckline. Paris paired the eye-popping fashion piece with thigh-high silver sparkly boots and a voluminous high ponytail. To complete the look, Paris also wore a — you guessed it — thick silver choker necklace.
"Sliving into the holiday season like a true icon," Paris captioned a series of Instagram photos shared from the event, putting more views of her look on display. "I had the most magical time performing at [iHeartJingleBall]! Thank you to my incredible fans for always supporting me! You are my favorite gift of all!"
Additionally, the mom of two attended the MTV Video Music Awards on September 11 and rocked what appeared to be a deconstructed replica of her iconic 21st birthday dress.
The midi dress, from designer Celia Kritharioti, had a luxuriously shredded look with high-low detail and a lightly hip-hugging silhouette. Paris paired the style with sparkly silver pointed-toe pumps, a silver bag, and a thick embellished choker necklace. She also wore her blonde tresses in a wet look style we haven't seen on her before.
One word: sliving.
