How Did Padma Lakshmi Really Feel After Being Confused for Priyanka Chopra?
The Bravo's Top Chef host had a surprising reaction to The New Yorker's mistake.
While appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Bravo's Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi spoke out further about being mistaken for actress Priyanka Chopra earlier this year.
As a refresher, Padma was featured on The New Yorker's Instagram account — but Priyanka had been mistakenly tagged instead. Padma first reacted to it by sharing the screenshot of the blunder and writing, "Thank you to the illustrious '@nydailynews' for the shoutout," intentionally writing the wrong publication's name. "I know to some we all look alike, but [shrug emoji]... #desilife #justindianthings." (The original post appears to have been deleted by The New Yorker.)
When she was then asked about it on WWHL, Padma shared how she felt about the mix-up. "I thought it was funny," she admitted. "I thought it allowed me to point out that there are a lot of these kinds of mistakes. I didn't take it personally. She's a beautiful woman; it was fine. And I actually felt like there was so much more mileage and that article went so much further."
