Nneka Ihim Is Leaving RHOP After One Season: "At This Point..."
Of the decision, the attorney said that there's been a change to her "ultimate priority."
Amid a shift in her priorities, Nneka Ihim is leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac.
The attorney, who joined the cast on Season 8, confirmed her departure in a statement to PEOPLE. “I will not be returning for season 9 of RHOP," she told the outlet about leaving the show after one season as a 'Wife.
Why is Nneka departing RHOP?
Nneka stated that she's focused on growing her family with her husband, Dr. Ikenna Ihim. "At this point, after multiple failed fertility procedures, I have decided to make expanding my family my ultimate priority," the Potomac resident said.
She then thanked her fans for their love and support as she navigated both intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) on the show.
"Thank you to the fans [who] have supported me along the way this season, especially regarding my difficult IUI turned IVF journey, and the stigma surrounding infertility," she continued. "All of the kind remarks have genuinely kept me uplifted and have fueled my determination to continue to share my story."
Cast Departures After RHOP Season 8
Nneka isn't the only cast member who decided to embark on a new chapter following the RHOP Season 8 reunion.
Candiace Dillard Bassett, who also shared her fertility journey on Season 8, confirmed her exit from the series in a PEOPLE statement shortly after the finale aired.

"As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey," she said in her statement to PEOPLE. "With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP."
Shortly after exiting RHOP, Candiace confirmed that she is expecting her first child with husband Chris Bassett.
Just a few weeks after Candiace shared her news, original cast member Robyn Dixon also announced that she was leaving the show. She revealed the news during the April 15 episode of the podcast she co-hosts with Gizelle Bryant.
