See the Emotional Moment RHOA Producers Gave Marlo Hampton Her Peach
The longtime RHOA friend reveals what we can expect from her first season as a Housewife, from work to her new home to life with her nephews.
How does it feel for Marlo Hampton to finally get a peach? "Freaking amazing!" she exclaimed in the above Bravo Insider exclusive video.
Yes, it was announced in October that Marlo, who has long been a friend on The Real Housewives of Atlanta over the years, will return as an official cast member in the upcoming Season 14. Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora will also be back for the new season, as will OG Housewife Shereé Whitfield, who was last part of the cast in Season 10. RHOA will also welcome track star and four-time Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross to the cast in Season 14.
Showing off a stunning peach-shaped purse in the above clip, Marlo recalled the moment RHOA producers surprised her with the news that she would be a Housewife in Season 14. She remembered getting a call while out at lunch that she needed to return home immediately. Behind-the-scenes footage included in the video shows Marlo driving into her garage and being greeted by her nephews, Michael and William, as well as the show's production team, who had executive producers Lauren Eskelin and Lorraine Haughton-Lawson on the phone. "And then it's like, production is in my garage with peach flowers," Marlo shared. "And they're like, 'Congratulations!' I'm like, 'What?'"
Though RHOA fans have known Marlo for a long time, there still is "so much more" to learn about her in Season 14, the new Housewife promised. Marlo teased what fans can expect from her in the new season, including taking them inside her career, the process of building a "home from the ground up," and life as the guardian of her nephews, lovingly referring to herself as their "munty," (that's "mother" and "aunty" combined).
As if you needed any more convincing that Season 14 of RHOA was going to be absolutely amazing, Marlo assured fans that they're definitely going to want to tune in. "You just wait for this season, baby. I will not disappoint," she promised in the video. "Because you know what? Life is a peach [laughs]."
