Marlo Hampton Reacts to Nene Leakes Leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta
Tanya Sam also shared her thoughts on the longtime RHOA cast member's departure.
Nene Leakes has announced that she will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 13, and a couple of members of the RHOA family are sharing their feelings on her departure.
Marlo Hampton showed some love to Nene in her Instagram Story as she shared Bravo's post about the news of her exit from RHOA. "THE BLUEPRINT," Marlo wrote in her Instagram Story, tagging Nene and including a fire emoji and a kissy face emoji.
Marlo and Nene have long been the closest of friends, as we've seen on RHOA during the past several seasons. Fans have gotten to see all of their fun adventures and their most touching, supportive moments on the show over the years.
Tanya Sam, who also joined RHOA as Nene's friend in Season 11, showed a lot of respect to this OG Atlanta Housewife as she reacted to the news in a post announcing the departure on Nene's Instagram. "End of an era but beginning of something bigger and better," Tanya wrote in the comments to the post. "You are literally a true trailblazer."
Nene sent her love right back to Tanya, replying to her comment, "Love my Tanya. Sag sisters."
Nene confirmed that she is leaving RHOA in a video on her YouTube channel on September 17. "I have made the very hard and difficult decision to not be a part of Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13," Nene said. "It wasn't an easy decision for me. It was hard."
While thanking everyone who has been a part of her RHOA journey, including Bravo, the show's production company, Truly Original, her team, and, of course, the fans, Nene also showed gratitude to her castmates. "Thank you to the cast for all of the memories," she shared.
"We wish Nene all the best in her future endeavors and thank her for sharing her journey for over a decade with the fans of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta,'" Bravo said in a statement to The Daily Dish. "She’s been instrumental since the start and will truly be missed, and maybe one day she’ll hold the peach again."
