NeNe Leakes Explains her 'Celebrity Apprentice' Exit

If NeNe Leakes could travel back in time and make changes to her Celebrity Apprentice experience, she wouldn't allow her frustration with Star Jones to lead to an altercation in front of clients. And that's it. 

"I needed to get it out," the Real Housewives of Atlanta star confided on The Ellen DeGeneres Show about blowing up at Star.  "I wish I could have maybe had a different delivery, maybe better word choices, but I'm OK with it. I felt she deserved it."

NeNe's not one to hold back her opinions (just ask Kim Zolciak) so fans were surprised to see her voluntarily bow out of the competition instead of charging after the former View co-host head on. Sure, a few were disappointed by the departure, but NeNe never looked back after dashing for the door. "I don't regret it. I felt very good about it. I always do what my gut tells me to do," the ATL Housewife explains. "I'm a grown woman, and nobody makes decisions for me. I make my own decisions. It was a toxic situation for me."

As fate would play out, Star didn't last much longer before the Donald Trump sent her packing, too. And — like NeNe – she's not regretting how things went down. "I played the game, raised a lot of $$ & awareness for #HeartHealth & had a ball!" Star tweeted.
