Morning After: NYC 'Wives Attend Group Therapy
Ramona blows up on Jill and Kelly embraces not making sense. Will they come back for another season?
Last night's NYC 'Wives Reunion finale was an epilogue to the dramatic season, a theatrical rollercoaster in its own right, and, most of all, a group therapy session for the NYC Housewives. Here are some of the most epic plot points:
A long, drawn-out discussion of the Jill-came-to-Ramona's-St-John-party-uninvited drama shook Mrs. Singer to the core. At the most climactic point, Ramona got out of her seat, pointed menacingly at Jill, and called her a "holier-than-thou" figure. What she felt Jill's coming to St. John really said (this is Ramona pretending to be Jill): "I am Jill. Come worship me!" In. Tense.
How does one describe the enigma that is Kelly Killoren-Bensimon? She is a PETA princess, yet a lover of wearing fuzzy animal skins. She is a staunchly anti-processed-foods teetotaler, but a consumer of gummy bears, other high-fructose-corn-syrup-laden "fun candies," beer, and 'Tron. An empowered 41-year-old Playboy Bunny who posed nude to give her little girls a great mommy role model. When Andy Cohen calls Kelly out as "the most genuinely contradictory Housewife of the season," she lets down her defenses and embraces not making sense: "I am ever-changing and ever-evolving, and if I one day want to eat chicken wings and the next day don't, those are my choices, and I'm cool with that." In all seriousness, Kelly is an amazing inspiration for all of us lost in our own personal Kelly-Land.
Call us sad sentimental sacks, but we cried when Bethenny and Jill hugged at the end of the Reunion, and we're proud of that. No more Team Bethenny vs. Team Jill nonsense! Love and light! World peace!
