Is MJ Javid and Asa Soltan Rahmati's Friendship Really Over? Shahs Alum Sammy Younai Weighs In
"The only thing I saw was MJ just had enough of Asa's bullsh**," the #Shahs alum says.
It seemed like the Shahs of Sunset crew would never be the same again after last season's reunion. Reza Farahan and Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi continued their season-long feud, and Mercedes "MJ" Javid and Asa Soltan Rahmati bickered about MJ's mom Vida's previous criticism of Asa for seeming to use the show to promote her kaftan line (clip above).
But there was a glimmer of hope at the end of the reunion as Reza and GG reconciled. After all, is there really any problem that a big hug can't solve? However, MJ later maintained that Asa "will never have my friendship back" when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live in August.
Since Shahs of Sunset alum Sammy Younai has been longtime friends with the cast, we of course had to get his take on whether or not this squad is really in trouble when The Daily Dish caught up with him in August. "Who's in trouble?" he said. "The only thing I saw was MJ just had enough of Asa's bullsh**."
In fact, Sammy thinks it was high time for Asa to be called out. "Actually, I think MJ did the right thing. I think this whole, 'I'm a priestess, I make my kaftans,' and all that nonsense, give me a break. [MJ]'s had enough of it," he said. "Asa wants to put on this face of all peace and love and all that, and I just think she's full of sh**, and MJ's tired of it, and I don't blame her."
But then again, MJ was one of Sammy's closest friends when he was on Shahs of Sunset, plus she's one of the cast members he still keeps in touch with the most, so it's actually not too surprising that he's taking her side in this situation.
But perhaps we can hope that Sammy will help broker peace between his friends in the future. Can't we dream?
