Prepare for Miley Cyrus to Get "Very Real" On Her New Album
The "Malibu" singer's family spills all the beans about her new music.
So far, the biggest tease we've gotten from Miley Cyrus' new album, set for release later this year, is her sweet, perfect-for-summer, easy-breezy lead single, "Malibu." It's a far cry from the hip-hop tinged, twerking magic of 2013's Bangerz. But there is one thing that will unify those two albums, according to her mom, Tish Cyrus, and sister, Brandi Cyrus. You can expect that Miley will, of course, be "just real" and that "more greatness" will make the final cut.
"She’s so amazing. And she wrote every single song on the record," Tish teased to The Daily Dish. "And so, just very real. Y’know, who she is. I mean, that’s just who Miley is. Wherever she is in her life, she just kinda speaks the truth and you just really see who she really is. Especially this time. So proud. Everybody’s doing so well. It’s kinda weird that all of us have things kinda coming out at the same time. And it’s been fun because we’ve done a lot of the promotions together... It’s really a fun time for our family."
Despite the family's busy schedules, which includes Miley prepping to release an album, as well as Tish and Brandi teaming up for Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer, the Cyrus kids make sure they make time for each other. "But it is funny, like now that we’re all getting older. But it’s funny that, like, the other day, we were all in California for —filming something. And Miley was like, 'Hey, like, why don’t we all, as siblings, go to dinner?' My parents didn’t go," Brandi recalled. "It was just the siblings and Liam [Hemsworth] and Braison’s girlfriend. So really, just the family. And we were all sitting there thinking like, 'I wonder how many siblings like this, like, voluntarily go out to dinner and, like, spend time together even without their parents, like forcing them or whatever.' It was cool that we were all there and want to hang out with each other. And then same thing on the plane back from Vegas the other day. Me, Miley, Noah, and Liam all sat together in the back. And then my mom was up front with my dad and everybody. We choose to all be together and sit together, and I think that’s pretty cool."
And you can bet that Tish loves seeing her kids happy, busy, and getting along. "It is. It’s great. They’re very, very close. It’s funny when they’re little, they fight and argue and pull hair," Mama Cyrus said. "And then, now that they’re older, they’re all best friends, and it’s so incredible."
