Mia Thornton’s Romance with Inc Is “Hotter Than Ever," But Is She Divorced from Gordon?
RHOP Season 9 promises to shed more light on Mia's "complicated" personal life, as she navigates a new relationship and a marital split.
With so many ups and downs, twists and turns, Mia Thornton’s romantic life has been quite a roller coaster ride.
It was nearly a year ago when The Real Housewives of Potomac mom announced she and Gordon Thornton had called it quits after more than 10 years of marriage. Several months following the divorce news, Mia surprised fans — once again — by confirming she had re-entered the dating scene and was romantically involved with her high school sweetheart, Inc.
Although her rekindled romance appears to be going strong, Mia is still navigating her separation from Gordon, with whom she shares two young children. Fans will get a closer look a the ex-couple’s dynamic in RHOP Season 9, which is set to premiere in early October.
RHOP Season 9 to explore Mia Thornton's relationship changes
Per the Season 9 press release: “Mia Thornton‘s life is what you’d call complicated. She’s in the process of getting a divorce from Gordon while her relationship with her new man, radio personality Inc, is hotter than ever. If that wasn’t enough, the ladies are questioning some of her actions, making it hard for her to know whom to trust in the group.”
The RHOP Season 9 trailer provided a glimpse at Mia's new life chapter and the aftermath of her and Gordon's separation. One of the scenes played out in Mia's apartment where she endured a tense moment involving her estranged husband and current beau. Although the details of the exchange remain unclear, it ended with Gordon abruptly leaving Mia’s home before the Potomac ’Wife told Inc, “This is a can of worms you opened.”
Mia reveals why she decided to divorce Gordon after a decade of marriage
Mia and Gordon tied the knot in 2012 and went on to welcome a son, Jeremiah, and a daughter, Juliana. The ex-couple’s marital issues were explored in RHOP Season 8, in which Mia revealed she and Gordon had secretly split in July 2023.
“No one knew,” she said in Season 8, Episode 18. “Is [Gordon] hurt? Yeah, he doesn’t want me to divorce him. He doesn’t want me to stay with him…
"If I were to be leaving my marriage because of financial reasons – I would’ve left seven or eight years ago,” she continued in a confessional. “He was spending an excessive amount of money… and just not home, coming in at the middle of the night.”
Mia addresses claims that Inc was the reason for her divorce
A day after the Season 8 finale (March 24), Mia appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and shared more details about her relationship status. The Potomac ’Wife confirmed that she and Gordon were “still legally married” and later shut down speculation that Inc — who was in the Clubhouse audience at the time — was the catalyst for their divorce.
“Even if Inc wasn’t in the picture, Gordon and I were definitely still on the road of separation,” Mia said, adding that she and Gordon had a solid co-parenting relationship. “He’s a great father, and Gordon is a great guy.”
When will RHOP Season 9 premiere?
RHOP Season 9 will premiere Sunday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Weekly episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock. The upcoming season will feature Mia’s returning castmates Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Karen Huger, and Dr. Wendy Osefo. The main cast will be rounded out by Potomac newbies Stacey Rusch and Keiarna Stewart, while Jacqueline Blake and Jassi Rideaux will join as friends.
