However, two seasons later, fans got a front-row seat to the couple's marriage unraveling. Financial troubles contributed to tension, which the pair discussed on camera in couple's therapy on Season 8.
In September 2023, Mia and Gordon announced they were separating after over a decade of marriage — and now, Mia is happy in a new relationship with her boyfriend, Incognito.

Mia and Gordon gave fans a closer look into their marital struggles in Season 8 of RHOP — and even brought cameras into a couples therapy session.
“The relationship between Gordon and I has definitely changed,” Mia shared during the season. “Ever since Gordon was voted out of the family business, he’s been working a lot more because we’ve been expanding our portfolio with other partnership groups, so it is causing a lot of tension inside of our marriage.” Financial issues with former business partners added additional strain.
Mia revealed during a couples therapy session in Season 8, Episode 5 that she had previously retained a divorce attorney before deciding to try to work out the issues in therapy.
When did Mia and Gordon Thornton decide to divorce?
On September 29, 2023, Mia issued a statement to People revealing that she and Gordon had “separated” after over a decade of marriage. "Like all marriages, ours has had its ups and downs," Mia said. "At this time, Gordon and I are separated, but my family is my number one priority, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure we are okay."
She added, "We ask that you respect our privacy and give us the time and space to figure things out."
In December 2023, Mia appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She shared an update on the status of her separation from Gordon.
"I just think that it's a sequence of events over the past couple of years that put a strain on the marriage," Mia said about the cause of the split, noting that the two were separated but not officially divorced. While Mia shared that their financial issues had “a lot to do with” the separation, she also called it a “mutual” decision.
"He was not blindsided," she said, addressing the rumors that Gordon was surprised by the separation. She also said that attending couples therapy with Gordon on RHOP Season 8 "made it worse" in their relationship.

Mia is dating Incognito, a radio host based in Atlanta.
She first revealed that she was in a new relationship during her December 2023 WWHL appearance, explaining that the two had first dated before she met Gordon.
Though she wore a diamond sparkler at BravoCon 2023, Mia cleared up any engagement speculation: "I am not engaged; I am committed, yes.”
She soft-launched her new beau on Instagram on New Year's Eve 2023 by posting a photo of his back with her legs wrapped around him, in front of a car. He reposted the same photo, and the two gushed about one another in the comments.
Mia and Incognito spent Valentine's Day together in Atlanta in 2023, with dinner at Midtown's Steak Market before hitting up the Red Martini for Usher’s album release party.

When did Mia and Gordon Thornton meet?
Mia and Gordon met at a strip club charity event in 2003, and bonded over altruistic endeavors.
"The reason why we became friends is because we partnered and served on the same board for a non-profit organization to raise money for Haiti," Mia shared with E! News in 2021. "We were raising money for the cause."
"One of the ladies, one of the original founders of the organization, she worked there — not as an entertainer, but in the admin office and so she did use the facility in order to raise money," she added. "They serve steak dinners and then the proceeds went to the organization."
