Mia Thornton Addresses Speculation About Gordon Not Being Her Son's Father
RHOP's Mia Thornton wants to make a few things "clear" about her family.
Mia Thornton wants to clear something up about the discussion surrounding the paternity of her youngest son.
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member spoke exclusively with The Daily Dish to set the record straight on some misconceptions from Season 9. Mia, more specifically, fired back at the claim that she "didn't protect [her] children" when discussing how her boyfriend, Inc, thought he might be the biological father of her youngest son instead of her estranged husband, Gordon Thornton.
"I think that’s something that needs to be cleared [up]. Because I, as a mother, carry the Mama Mia crown, and I wear it proud," she said about her three kids, Jeremiah, Juliana, and Joshua. "And that's not something I ever want anybody to question."
Mia added that her kids are doing well amid her split from Gordon.
"When I look at my children I see beautiful, vibrant, thriving kids — and I think that everybody else would agree. They're very well-mannered," she continued. "That doesn't come from a household where they’re not being protected or supported or loved. So, I would love for that to be done."
Mia alluded to the fact that Gordon is Jeremiah's biological father: "I would love to clear me not knowing who my child’s father is. But you guys will have to stay tuned to see that. So I won’t give you guys too much on that, but I definitely will say that we as women always know who our children’s father is," Mia told The Daily Dish. "And my kid’s last name is appropriate. 'Cause that’s who his father is. He's a Thornton."
Mia Thornton shares an update on her co-parenting relationship with Gordon Thornton
Elsewhere in her chat with The Daily Dish, Mia revealed how she's been getting along with her estranged spouse.
"You know, co-parenting is co-parenting," she said before laughing. "It has its ups, it has its downs," Mia said, adding that she is "fortunate" because "Gordon is a great father, and he is present."
"He’s in my building, so he’s very much so in the kids' day-to-day life,' she said, before sharing how involved her beau is in her kids' lives.
"As far as Inc is concerned, he’s definitely in the mix when it comes to just navigating the day-to-day," she said. "But I would say that a lot of the children’s, the responsibility of parenting does fall back on me and Gordon. Right, 'cause we’re their parents."
