Melissa Gorga, Joe & Their Kids Jet Off to Italy: “Showing Them the World” (PHOTOS)
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member is getting in some rest and relaxation with her family on vacation after an emotional Season 14.
Melissa Gorga and her husband, Joe Gorga, love Italy — from visiting the country to throwing parties inspired by it.
So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member and her family members have jetted off to Italy for an epic family vacation following the explosive RHONJ Season 14 finale for some rest and relaxation. The couple and their three kids — Antonia, Gino, and Joey Gorga — traveled to Italy over the weekend (along with Melissa's sisters and her mom), and they seem to be having the time of their lives there right now.
Inside Melissa and Joe Gorga's August 2024 Family Trip to Italy
Although the kids did not travel with Melissa and Joe on their 2023 trip to Italy (more on that below), they appear to be making up for some serious lost time. Melissa acknowledged this in a series of photos posted to her Instagram Feed on Sunday, August 4.
The family can be seen posing outside on some steps, while Melissa got in a solo shot of her and Antonia in front of the Italian coast dressed up for dinner in coordinating yellow and pink dresses. Other photos from the carousel show off the gorgeous sights they've seen, delicious food they've feasted on, and outfits that Melissa has worn so far on the trip.
"Showing them the world. Especially the important places," she wrote in the caption of the post, adding an Italian flag and heart emoji.
"My world," Joe commented back.
Joe, Melissa, and Antonia also took to their Instagram Stories, where they posted photos from their vacation in the moment. Melissa showed off the view from their "home for the week," and got in plenty of outfit pictures, while Joe got to celebrate his birthday three weeks early. In the photos, Joe can be seen smiling in front of dessert, holding a sparkler, and kissing his sister-in-law on the cheek.
"Happy birthday Kimmie!" Joe wrote in tribute to Melissa's oldest sister, who just celebrated her birthday. "Thank you for being you."
Why Melissa and Joe Gorga's family vacation is so special
Italy just so happens to be the couple's favorite place and this vacation celebrates family time for Melissa, Joe, and their three kids. Melissa and Joe's 2023 vacation to Italy marked a momentous occasion for the couple — it was the first time in 18 years of marriage that the couple had traveled to Italy together, not separately. But, last year, they didn't bring their three children with them on that vacation because they "refused" to go.
"We invited our kids to Italy because we wanted to take them with us on a family trip, but Antonia said no because it's her high school graduating year — she has so many graduation parties. And Gino and Joey, it's their dead week, which means all the kids are off of football and sports," Melissa explained during a July 2023 episode of her On Display podcast.
"They refused to come because their friends all rented houses on LBI (Long Beach Island) and all of these things," she added.
However, Antonia, Gino, and Joey are not missing out on the pasta and crystal clear waters of the Italian coast this year. And they seem to be thoroughly enjoying it so far.
