Meghan King Edmonds Is Having “Facetime Dates” During Her Self-Quarantine
“It’s fun, and there’s no pressure,” the RHOC alum said of her virtual dating life.
Like most people, Meghan King Edmonds is hunkering down at home during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum has been self-isolating with her kids for a couple of weeks, but that doesn’t mean she’s completely neglecting her love life. The newly single mom, who split from ex Jim Edmonds last year, recently revealed that she’s continuing to date during her self-quarantine — with a little help from Facetime.
Meghan opened up about her love life on the latest episode of her podcast Intimate Knowledge, saying, “I am kind of in the dating world a little bit, and I’m on apps. And It’s been so interesting because I’ve been having Facetime dates.”
The mom of three explained that she and her date “will literally schedule a time and then pour ourselves a glass of wine or coffee, and, like, cheers on Facetime." She went on to add, "It’s so funny, but it’s fun and there’s no pressure. I kind of like it."
While the ongoing coronavirus outbreak has effectively shut down most of the world, Meghan says there are some pros to be found in dating via Facetime. “There [are] no geographic barriers, and that is so cool,” she said, also adding that the pandemic has forced everyone to get creative with their dates.
“I’ve been kind of saying that long distance is the new short distance because even if you’re dating your neighbor down the street, you’re still not seeing them — you’re Facetiming,” she stated. “Unless you’re doing social distancing and standing six feet apart, and that’s a super awkward date.”
Although Meghan admitted that she has fantasized about having “an isolation boyfriend” to hang out with during her self-quarantine, she clarified that she’s not dating anyone seriously enough to introduce to her children, daughter Aspen and twin sons Hart and Hayes. “I haven’t brought anyone around my kids,” she said. “It’s going to take a long time for somebody to special enough for that to happen, which will happen, but not yet.”
Meghan has offered several glimpses into her self-quarantine in recent days. She previously opened up about what it's like to work from home and shared a sweet family photo while practicing social distancing with her kids.
