Everything You Need to Know About the Ladies of Married to Medicine Los Angeles
Meet the fresh faces who are joining the latest Married to Med franchise!
Married to Medicine is going west! The franchise is heading to the City of Angels, and with that comes an entirely new group of successful female doctors and doctor's wives to follow. After recently meeting the ladies on the newest episodes of Married to Medicine Los Angeles, it's only fitting that we get to know the latest group of elite women who are running the medical scene in LA.
The group, which is comprised of doctors, an actress, and an entrepreneur, also has a surprising connection to the crew from Atlanta. Keep scrolling to find out everything you need to know about the ladies of Married to Med LA.
Dr. Britten Cole
As the main link between LA and Atlanta, Dr. Britten Cole is an LA-based anesthesiologist — who just so happens to be best friends with Contessa Metcalfe. The two met in 1994 and went on to serve in the Navy together, where Britten was an officer and Contessa was a flight surgeon. Britten then made the move out west in search of a full-time anesthesiologist position. While her husband, Mack Major, and their two kids haven't joined her yet, she hopes that if she finds a stable job, they will soon follow. (Someone has to enjoy that massive pool of hers!)
Asha Kamali-Blankinship
Asha Kamali Blankinship is married to physiatrist (physical medicine and rehabilitation physician) Dr. Larry Blankinship, and the budding actress is on her way to finding her big break in her own career field, too. Asha attended Howard University, where her future husband also went to school — though their paths didn't cross until years later, when Asha was 32. While in school, Asha earned her Master's degree in theater and went on to create her own web series, Milk & Honey, about women working to achieve their goals, from being a mother to landing a dream job.
Dr. Imani Walker
Dubbed a "unicorn" by Contessa, Dr. Imani Walker knows that her unique job paired with her striking appearance creates a rare combination — and that's just the way she likes it (she does call herself a four-leaf clover, after all). Imani also went to college with Contessa and Britten, but she went on to pursue a career as a psychiatrist. Currently, she's the Medical Director of Gateways Hospital & Mental Health Center, where she specializes in cases related to mental issues, homelessness, schizophrenia, and chronic depression. She's also married to Phil Johnson of the '90s R&B group Portrait, and together they have one son.
Dr. Noelle Reid
Dr. Noelle Reid met Imani while they did their residency together, though Noelle went on to pursue a career in family medicine. She owns Trinity Health and Wellness Center, where she brings her patients an "East meets West" approach to medicine. Her day-to-day procedures include everything from pap smears to prostate exams, and when she's not in the office, you can catch her teaching yoga or meditating. Noelle is married to Erin Vines, and she has a daughter, Gabby, from a previous relationship, who she calls her "co-pilot.'
Shanique Drummond
"Super mom" Shanique Drummond has the best of both worlds in both her personal and professional life. She's a real estate property manager who prides herself on being able to do it all: In addition to having a full time job and raising her two kids with her husband, Dr. Robert Drummond (an urgent care physician), Shanique will always have dinner on the table, no matter what — in "stilettos and with full glam," no less.
Jazmin Johnson
Introduced to the group by Shanique, Jazmin Johnson is fully immersed in her role as a brand new mother. Her husband is a psychiatrist, and his demanding schedule often keeps him away from home, leaving Jazmin to take on the role of full-time mom. But, in her spare time, Jazmin enjoys hitting the gym and perfecting her photography skills.
To keep up with these ladies, watch Married to Medicine Los Angeles on Sundays at 9/8c. Relive the moment when the Atlanta crew traveled to the Golden Coast to meet the LA women in the clip below.
